The selected exam location determines the day on which a candidate will sit for the exam. All test centers in the Asia-Pacific region will observe testing for Level II and III candidates on Saturday and Level I candidates on Sunday.
As was also done for the June 2018 exam, the June 2019 CFA Program exams will not take place during the first weekend in June in order for us to accommodate our global candidate body. We moved the dates later in June with consideration for our candidates who celebrate Ramadan and its associated holidays and events. Additionally, candidate growth in the Asia-Pacific region has compelled us to evaluate our testing capacity. In order for us to provide a secure, fair testing environment for all candidates in the region, we identified the need to separate our testing dates.
As CFA Institute continues to expand globally, we now factor a wider variety of countries and cultures into the planning and execution of our exam cycle than before. In consultation with many global constituents, including members, charterholders, societies, candidates, and institutional partners, it became clear that holding the exam on the first Saturday in June was going to be challenging for an increasing number of candidates due to Ramadan and its associated holidays and events. This was also the case in June 2018.
The announcement of the exam date for 2019 was made in May 2018 in advance of the opening of June 2019 registration.
The exam will be administered on Saturday, 15 June 2019 for all Level I, Level II, and Level III candidates in the Americas and EMEA regions.
Unfortunately, a refund or deferral cannot be granted for this situation. We will encourage Level I candidates who can only sit on Saturday to consider traveling to a test center location outside of the Asia-Pacific region.
We have designated testing dates based on test center location, exam level, and accommodation needs. Exam operations are planned based on these criteria. We cannot offer exceptions to these dates. We will encourage Level I candidates who can only sit on Saturday to consider traveling to a test center location outside of the Asia-Pacific region.
We have designated the day after the standard administrations as the Religious Alternate Date for all exams. In the Asia-Pacific region, this means the Religious Alternate Date is the Monday following the Level I, Level II, and III administrations. This is consistent with our practices around the globe.
We will continue to serve our candidate body by providing the most secure and equitable testing environment possible. Therefore, in June 2020, we will offer the exam on both Saturday (Levels II and III) and Sunday (Level I) in the Asia-Pacific region.
